Our Programmes

At The Lioness Within Community, our programmes are designed to strengthen parent-teen relationships, support emotional wellbeing, and prevent difficulties from escalating during the teenage years.

Our work is grounded in trauma-informed, SEND-inclusive, and relationship-centred practice, shaped by ongoing listening to parents, young people, and community partners. Rather than offering disconnected services, our work sits within a clear, coherent programme framework that allows for consistency, flexibility, and impact.

The Parent-Teen Bond Academy

A supportive home for parents navigating the teenage years

The Parent-Teen Bond Academy is the central programme through which families access our support.

The Academy acts as a supportive and structured space where parents and carers of teenagers can build understanding, confidence, and connection over time. It brings together learning, reflection, and practical tools to support families through the emotional and relational challenges of adolescence.

Parents enrol in the Parent-Teen Bond Academy to access our flagship programme, the Parent-Teen Bond Builder™, alongside tailored delivery options that meet families where they are.

The Parent-Teen Bond Builder™

Our flagship programme

The Parent-Teen Bond Builder™ is the core programme at the heart of the Parent-Teen Bond Academy.

It is a structured, relationship-centred programme that supports parents to strengthen communication, emotional resilience, and trust with their teenagers. The programme helps parents understand behaviour in context, respond with intention rather than reactivity, and maintain connection alongside clear, consistent boundaries.

Through the Parent-Teen Bond Builder™, parents are supported to:

  • Understand adolescent development and emotional regulation
  • Communicate more effectively during challenging moments
  • Balance empathy with boundaries and consistency
  • Build confidence in their parenting role
  • Reduce conflict and strengthen trust over time

The Parent-Teen Bond Builder™ provides a consistent foundation, while allowing flexibility in how it is delivered.

How the Parent-Teen Bond Builder™ Is Delivered

Tailored pathways within the Parent-Teen Bond Academy

The Parent-Teen Bond Builder™ is delivered through a range of tailored pathways within the Parent-Teen Bond Academy, ensuring accessibility and relevance across different contexts.

Community-Based Parent Workshops

Group sessions delivered in community spaces, designed to be inclusive, supportive, and accessible. These workshops reduce isolation, build peer connection, and provide practical communication tools for everyday family life.

One-to-One Parent Support

Individualised support for parents who would benefit from tailored guidance. This pathway supports parents navigating complex challenges, parenting neurodivergent teenagers, or experiencing ongoing conflict or withdrawal at home.

Family Communication Training

For local authorities and community services

Commissioned training delivered in partnership with local authorities, Children’s Services, and family support teams. This pathway applies the Parent-Teen Bond Builder™ within professional and service settings to support early intervention and strengthen family functioning.

Partner-Hosted & Outreach Delivery

Sessions delivered in collaboration with schools, SEND organisations, and community groups, ensuring families can access support in familiar and trusted environments.

Each pathway uses the same core principles and framework of the Parent-Teen Bond Builder™, adapted to suit the needs of families, communities, and partner organisations.

Complementary Support for Young People

Alongside our work with parents, we offer mentoring for young people to support confidence, emotional wellbeing, and life skills.

Mentoring provides a safe, supportive space for young people to:

  • Build self-esteem and emotional awareness
  • Develop communication and decision-making skills
  • Explore aspirations and future pathways
  • Strengthen resilience during adolescence

Where appropriate, mentoring sits alongside parent support within the Parent-Teen Bond Academy, helping families strengthen understanding and communication at home.
