What This Grant Means for For Families
We are delighted to announce that The Lioness Within Community CIC has been awarded a £2,000 grant from the Postcode Lottery Grassroots Grants programme, made possible thanks to funds raised by players of the Postcode Lottery.
The funding will support our work with parents and carers of teenagers through the Parent-Teen Bond Academy, helping us strengthen two important community-based strands of our Parent-Teen Connection Project™.
Parent-Teen Bond Connection Hub™
The Parent-Teen Bond Connection Hub™ provides accessible community outreach, early intervention, signposting and confidential one-to-one support for parents and carers.
It provides an informal first point of connection for parents who may be experiencing difficulties within their relationship with their teenager, have concerns about changes in behaviour or communication, or simply want an opportunity to talk things through before challenges become more serious.
Parent Connection Tea & Talk
The funding will also support our Parent Connection Tea & Talk sessions – relaxed, non-judgemental community spaces where parents and carers can come together to talk openly about the realities of parenting teenagers.
Through guided conversations, shared experiences and relaxed relationship-centred activities, Tea & Talk provides opportunities for parents and carers to connect, learn from one another and recognise that they do not have to navigate the teenage years alone.
Strengthening early support for families
At The Lioness Within Community CIC, we believe families should be able to access support before difficulties reach crisis point.
This grant will help us strengthen the accessibility, visibility and quality of our community-based parent support and enable more parents and carers to connect with our services.
